I hope they don't go to a V-8. Inline is the only way to go. Dependable, plenty of torque, and like Whitmore said, longevity. Not to mention, fuel mileage. Modern big truck motors are all inline, 1,000,000 mile + engines.

 

If they eliminate the I-6 Cummins, I'll be keeping this one forever.

Yeah well they can say all kinds of things, just like everyone thought Al Gore was going to win too.....Until its actually on the market its only gossip. I heard for years the Cummins was only going to be in the Dodges until 2002 and look what, they are still using em. Time will tell.
