Default 1999 7.3L Ford Life Expectancy

Hi all, my name is Richie. I have a 1999 Ford F-350 Dually with a 7.3L and automatic. It has 286K miles. I have already did the trans., water pump, timing position sensor ect.. In fact, I just completed a full service from front to back, diff., filters, ect.. ect... The truck had a goose neck already and was owned by one company. I want to use it for hot shot with my 40 foot trailer. I have used it already for 1.5 years and it runs great. It also has low blow bye. I just wonder, how many miles can these things go? I heard 600-800K if your luck and maintainece is right. Any true testements out there? Also, if you live in Houston area and need help hauling, call me at 281-330-9155. Thank you.

keep up with the maintainence and take care of it. Don't dog it and keep an eye on he exhaust temps if you've done anything to the programming, and that thing will likely outlast the truck itself. I once had a work truck (F350) that I got with 300k+, I had to put a set of injectors and an hpop in it at about 400k. I got out of it at 750+ when the tranny(ZF6-speed) went and the company decided not o fix it....bastards, i loved that truck.

yup good clean oil on a regular basis will make dang near anything last a long time. remember that the injectors on that truck are fired with oil pressure. so the cleaner oil you keep in there the longer the injectors will last.

I have 188,000 on my F-350, 2001 dulley, CC Lariat. I found it 5 years ago with 130,000 on it and got it for 16K. Did all the stuff ya have to, breaks, front end work, 4x4 hubs, shocks, axils, oil pen ( ouch) all new tires, climate control. I popped in a new alternator in less the 30min. Last 2.5 years have been problem free. (knock on wood ) opps forget the engine core heater last January. I use it to commute to/from work 55 miles round trip. Love the truck. Slow enough to keep me outta trouble, big enough to be seen and not messed with. And pulls a house if I have to.
Though I have a shop do the oil changes ( @ 3kmiles ) still worth it.
