For me the only ratcheting wrenches that hold up are either Blue-Point or Snap-On. Same ratcheting mechanisms, just different wrench profiles.

The GearWrench/Matco ones lock up after heavy use. Everyone in our company who has them has purchased the Blue-Point/Snap-on wrenches as they are working better.

This is a rough environment....heavy trucks, heavy equipment, marine, field service, etc.

FWIW......

I love my Gearwrenches, currently only have the metric reversable set. I will say that my 8mm and 10mm have locked up a few times, just take them back to Napa and get a new one. Definately lifesavers.

I have some Canadain Tire (Mastercraft) and some Blue point ones.

They are the most used tool in my box, other than my hammer ( Work at in import auto wrecker)

I know the feeling, but I cant stop, and ditto on the bluepoints, I have the long metric set and they are way better than my blackhawk stubby's or my gearwrench long standards, think I'll get the standard wobbles this week

I rarely use my Craftsman's that I "just had to have" because the heads are huge, the ratchets are too far apart, and if you push in in them they disengage. What a pain!
