I have the Excel spread sheet that DieselMinded posted.
Its a little tricky to get it set up initially, but once squared away it's the cats me-ow.
I log all my fuel & Mileage on my receipts’ for the month and then enter it in the spread sheet along with any Mods or Maintenance preformed

I track nothing...When Im spending as much as $100 a day on fuel I dont even want to see the big numbers on paper...I just look in my back account!
If there is money left at the end of the week, it was a good week! As long as I bill more than I spend Im happy. I never keep a truck long enough to keep track of anything important!

DM I am impressed with the Excel sheet though, that is cool!

I don't keep track of fuel very much, I calculate the MPG out at the pump but thats about as far as it goes. After having it almost 5 years I know when it gets good gas mileage and when it doesn't.

I do have about 80% of the maintance stuff stored away in a folder, I don't keep track of light bulbs or little stuff like that nor routine maintence. If they can't tell I do routine maintence I just show them the boxes of oil filters and fuel filters in the garage. Anything that has a warranty (like tires, battery, alt. etc.) get stuck in the truck on a long trip incase something happens, but don't make many of those anymore.

I don't log fuel mileage, and rarely hand calculate it. I just stop and put fuel in the truck when it needs it.. Ive had the truck for a little less than 3 years, so I know about how long Im supposed to go on a tank of fuel. As far as maintenance I log everything.. From oil changes to tire changes, to tire rotations.

I log any maintenance in a little book. New shocks, tranny fluid flush, oil and filters. Any new mod and when it was done.
I don't keep track of fuel purchase...whats the point anyway.
Besides i don't buy diesel fuel often enough to even tell you what the current price of diesel is. I filled my diesel tank 4 weeks ago and still have 1/2 a tank and that was 1400 miles ago also. 1400 miles on about 17 gallons of diesel? Of course I have used 80 or so gallons of vegi oil in that 4 weeks but thats free
I will get over 2500 miles on this one tank of diesel. I fill my diesel tank twice per oil change basically. So its real easy to keep track of my fuel purchases.
I don't mean to sound like i am bragin but I do get a pretty smug feeling when i think about that.

I've got a spread sheet similar to the one posted. I keep track of everything down to nuts and bolts. (misc small items). Each item has a cost per mile. I keep refining what is shown and adding new features. Fuel mileage and cost per mile for repairs is important so I watch them closely at 4 decimal places. Fuel is by far the largest cost per mile.

I can also project what it costs to pay off items like the Smarty and 275 injectors in terms of fuel mileage increase.

If I could get accurate numbers I might spring for a Gear Vendor but I'm not onthe road as much as I was so it will be hard to justify it. Maybe I can find a used one.

Just for information, my last 5700 miles cost $0.1376 per mile and 19.59 mpg. About 1/2 was winter driving with some below 0 weather that really hurt mpg.
