wonder if it can be used on guns as gun oil

I don't know if the wax oyl could be used on guns. May be OK externally. May be a bit thick for internal. Do a search for eds red gun cleaner. He has 2 recipes. One uses some kind of lanolin in the mixture. It was good for dampness and long term storage.

I was thinking about the Kano Kroil, i don't want wax in my guns

IIRC, Sinclair International had a tip about using Kroil mixed with Shooters Choice as a bore cleaner. Seems like it was a 50/50 mix. Been so long I don't remember. Supposedly gets beneath copper, moly, lead fouling etc. and lifts it out of the pores.

I'm going to try the ATF/acetone mix. I have a 2 cylinder John Deere that's stuck from sitting. I'll fill the cylinders up with the mix and see what happens.
