Maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree.

"Diesel engines were running and lasting quite a long time before all these..."
and the sulphur content which was not only added lubricity, but an underrated anti-oxidant as well has been removed And bio has been introduced. I am not saying that a guy can not get by w/o additives, but having a better fuel run thru your system surely can't be a bad thing and many feel that it is just good solid preventative maintenance.

That WAS the topic or subject of the thread, IIRC: Two Stroke Oil Myth or Legend ?
Where's the myth and legend? Anyone care to chime in?
Here's one for you: Premium Fuel Additives Worth the Extra Cost?

Sounds to me that this rep is like everyone in sales, our product is the best but can't say why. IF they put forth the effort of say MoparMan and post their findings, it would be a lil easier to swallow. I'm from MN and we are stuck with 5% bio for now, but I think what I run is good enuf for me. Power Service for anti-gel and 2 stroke in winter WMO in summer. If those in sales want a sale, they should post proof and its cheaper or close to what people are using now.

There is a pretty intence writeup somewhere out there I read and printed out about all the additives and walmart 2 stroke oil came in with high marks compared to stuff we thought was good. Hell I fill my fuel filters with atf as its a non stinky and it convient to carry along with spare filters. I bet you can run a diesel on ATF alone. (OK I know you can) TOO many good reports about 2stroke oil / never head of any bad one and at 200 to one or so , what the heck . Put the Sulfer back and I will drop the oil! Of course I get forgetful and don't use it every time but when i do i seem to have a fuller fuel tank for the same 300 mile trip. Fuel costs don't kill me but engine work will and I never heard of anyone saying . " you overlubed your engine". What would Mr Diesel say now after all the trouble he went though to make a motor that would run on waste crude oil gasoline crap
