Default 2003 Duramax-Injectors AGAIN-Stay or fold

Greetings all,
I really appreciate all the help this site provides.
I have a 2003 Chevrolet Duramax, CC, 4wd, 164k miles, bought as a demo with 16k at dealer in Jan 04. I had the injectors changed under the junk injector warranty at 100k, now at 164k they are going out again, white smoke and lose of power and whitish/blue smoke. Took it to the dealer today and was told Injectors are bad, #8, does not qualify for 7/200k warranty since out of date. They are working up a price to replace, but ballpark of $3 -$4k to replace. This is by far the best truck I have owned, coming out of a 1999 Ford F250 Diesel that was a POS, more in the shop than not.
But here is a question I have. I can get trade in for about $10-$12K, heck the service manager wanted to buy it today. Should I replace injectors and keep on going or fold up and buy a newer Duramax? I'm struggling with this for a couple reason, 1st dont really want a truck payment, 2nd Do I throw $3k-$4k at her and hope for the best? Any advice would be appreciated. The truck has no other issues and is almost as clean as it was when I bought it, I'm prety OCD when it comes to maintence and cleaning it.

Id replace injectors and move on personally. You already said you don't want another payment.3-4k versus 35-50k. Also you could probably do the injectors for just cost of parts

do the injectors yourself and save a bunch. you can get all 8 for about 2 grand.

the injectors now have hardened ball and seats that the injectors of 04 did not have. should help them last a bit longer. once you replace the injectors you'll likely have second thoughts about selling it as it will run some much better then before.

I have same truck and bought in the first of o3 and have had the injectors done once under warranty at 84k and have not had to do them until now 240k not bad its the best truck Ive ever had. I am currently diving in to changing the injectors and the only road block i,ve come up to is stripping the upper valve cover bolts. Trying to get the best way to get them out.the drivers side is the tightest. ANY WAy dont sell that truck they keep on going.
