Ditto. Running either a #100 or #0 fuel plate full forward, or no plate at all, should put you close to 250hp to the wheels. I know on a 215hp engine it will put you close to 300, so I would imagine on your 160hp engine it would put you close to 250hp at the wheels. But even there, you stock auto trans won't like it, so I would definitely upgrade that as well.

what upgrades should i do to the trans if my end goal is around 600 hp? and can i do them now and still have a streetable truck with only having around 300 hp? keep in mind that the trans was rebuild 30,000 mile ago. with stock parts.

For 600hp on a Dodge auto, you are going to have to spend some coin. Whats your budget for this? Yes a built trans will be fine daily driving.

The stock trans would probably be fine at 250 rear wheel, but don't take my work for it. A lot of it depends on how hard you drive it and what you do with the truck. For 600hp I would go full billet, something from like Goerend. I think the full billet 47RH runs about $3900. There are steps inbetween a stock trans and a full billet as well, just adding a better TC, better VB, etc.

thanks for the help on the trans qustions. as for budget to get to 600 hp would like to come in around $10,000 will be doing alot of the work myself. also the time frame is around a year to get there.

going to do pait and body work here in may then start the mods. also the $10,000 does not in clude the body work or paint. that is just for mods to get to 600 hp.

If you do most of your own work I would say that is very doable

Yes it should be. Twins and lots of fuel and you should be there. I would also do headstuds, harmonic balancer, and a bigger intercooler.
