Well were not talking built trannys but past that, your telling me that hpops and don't fail in 7.3s at all? also i meant the earlier style cps' not idm its been awhile since I've looked at 7.3 stuff. I didnt say they go out every month usually when things fail its those and the 4r100s I know they good built but they don't come from the factory like that do they?

I meant to say you don't see many hpop failures, They are few and far between. With a torque converter and valve body they have be a tough trans.

24v better have a aftermarket lift pump. Otherwise you could be looking at replacing the injection pump. Front ends can wear out if they are abused. Oversize tires and offset wheels on a stock, high milage front end wont help either. Auto trans is worth less. Tell us more about the trucks. What year? Mileage? Upgrades? What are you looking to do with it?

My dad was die hard ford... From 1983 to present he has put over 2 million miles on ford F-350 diesels..... He now has a dodge... I would buy one ford and that would be a 1997 1 ton dually reg flatbed painted fire red with lots of flake and alcoa wheels... and enough power to roast the rubber off the back... dodge gets my vote...
