Default Can't Decide!

Alright im going to be buying my first diesel sometime soon within this year. And I can't decide whether I'd rather get a 7.3 (96-02) or a 24v 5.9. I'm really leaning towards the cummins right now but I could use some advice. Any ideas?

Drive them and see which one tickles your fancy... They are both damn good motors.

Yup as stated above drive a few see which you like better, and drive them on highway back roads if you can

Yeah man its all about preference, an what your doing with it/ to it. There both good trucks, both have pro's and con's. Dodge trans aren't the greatest after certain amount of horsepower without back up mods, fords v8 more things to fool with like plugs, and what not

I like the cummins engine, but I also like the FORD looks, fine interior, strong frame, tough tranny. I took a chance buying the FORD with the 6.4 PSD

Yeah I'm with gunman, I like cummins motors that's it. Ford has a nicer interior and better quality than dodge IMHO. I've rode in dodges and drove them they don't hold a candle to a ford in my book rough rode especially if lifted. Fords aren't as bad. And dodges tend to rust faster than ford or chevy

Thats really the only reason i cant decide, dodge has a great engine, but ford has the great body/interior. Guess i'll just have to get some more seat time in them both
