Default AMSOIL?

I just purchased a 2001 Ford Excursion w/ the 7.3 I am a fanatic about maintenance on my vehicles. I have been told that diesel engines need a better grade of oil. I was searching on the net and came across AMSOIL. Can any tell me good or bad about this product? Thank you, and I LOVE MY DIESEL!!

I HAD A 1999 f-250 7.3 & I would change the dinosaur oil every 3,000 miles so & I had no problems. Now I have a 2008 F-250 & I change my dinosaur oil every 5,000 & no problems. The 7.3 needs clean oil for good MPG

I use Amsoil and like it (I'm also a dealer,so take it for what it's worth). To each his own. If you're interested in it, there is a "sponsor" dealer here on the site. You could go ask him for a quote, he might give you a deal.

Heath is our Amsoil vendor on this site. You might ask him about information or details. He will be happy to answer your questions in detail.

As a maintenance engineer I'm also fanatic about maintenance. It pays off in the long run to spend the x-tra money. Every dime spent on maintenance gives you reliability when you need it.
Have a look at the bypass filtration systems Amsoil sell.

Thank you to all that replied. I put 300 miles on it in the past two days, a smidgen to some of you to be sure, but I had fun doing it. My wife loves the diesel! She is comandeering it for herself, I think.

It has worked well for me. Keeping the oil clean is the key. Yes, you can run farther with AMSOIL but you need to be diligent about filter changes. Yes, we have filters that can run longer. I use them but many use $5-7 aftermarket and these will work if you keep them fresh.
Be glad to shoot you a price if you become interested.
