I had a 2000 7.3 2wd 6 speed manual, all stock. I got between 18.5 and 19 MPG mixed city highway with approx 75% of my typical miles being hwy.

With the truck in my sig I get 24 highway and 20 city. I did do a bunch of stuff to help with mileage so it isn't stock.

I put stock injectors back in it and adjusted the pump to where it doesn't smoke. It also has a bigger exhaust and intake. I never run it past 1900rpm ever.

I have an 05 F250 6.0L. I pull 23 mpg hwy @ 70 mph and around 16 towing my 30 ft tow behind. I acheived all that with SCT tuner, exhaust and intake.

I would say a Cummins generally gets better mileage. all of them (6.7 when DPF is deleted) could get over 20mpg highway.

My 6.7 gets 18-22 hand calculated. Thats a combination of city and hwy driving. I just average it at every fill up. My 24v gets about the same. 6.7 has minimal mods. Deletes, exhaust, tuner, and intake. 24v has alot more. Both are manual trans trucks. You will get better mpgs out of a manual truck depending on your driving style.
