A Duramax would be awesome in your rig.

Agreed a Dmax would be awesome, but would require a lot of work.

How big of an engine are you lookin for? Like a 5.9 Cummins or Dmax or like a Mercedes diesel?

A 4BT Cummins would be the most common swap to do. I know Isuzu also makes a diesel comparable in size to the 4BT, saw one swapped into an old F100.

Or maybe a 4-53 Detroit? Not gonna be real powerful but it would be cool

thats why i said 4bt, they can still make 400hp and be reliable, and they're gona move a big truck a lot easier with lower RPM then a detroit, or a small izuzu

Whatever engine you choose, let us know, sounds like a cool project

Idk that Isuzu looks pretty bad to the bone, but I dont think they're as common as 4BT's. the 4BT would get my vote. But check this out

I believe its a 3.9L Isuzu diesel. He's running twin turbos, and if you watch the boost gauge, even with a leaking head gasket, it hits 60psi like nothing. Speed doesnt jump up much, but he say the trans is shot, he only has 1st and 2nd gear, and the converter slips with anything over 25% throttle. Bad little truck

I'm working on the exact same truck. Or at least I will when the stupid title fiasco is done! I'll be using a 354-6 Perkins in mine, just because it was available and FREE.

Check it out here if you want: https://www.dieselbombers.com/diesel...0-perkins.html
