looking to buy a 4500 Kodiak, maybe
I am thinking of getting a dual wheel, 1 ton or bigger Truck. I want to get a 5th wheel toy hauler large enough to carry my 4X4 truck (20' garage area, total legnth 38' or more). I ran across an 05 Kodiak Duramax/alli and it got me thinking... Are the engine / trans the same as the 2500hd dmax?
I was told that the 4500 GM trucks were rated to carry / tow more than the 4500 Ford's and Dodges???
Any opinions are welcome.
Thank you.

id stick with the cummins...i was pullin hotshot with my truck, the one in my sig, pullin a 40' 10ton dual tandem gooseneck, its in a couple of my pics..it weighed 10k by itself..i never had any probs or hooked to anything i couldnt pull..i loaded some things i decided not to pull, not because i was worried bout the truck handling it, but because of the ***** that owned the trailer that i was working for..i looked at the bigger trucks, but then u get into the lower gear ratios, and thats gona kill fuel mileage. pretty much only difference is, cabs are bigger, and the suspension is diff....thats just my .02

Thanks guys, appreciate your opinions. I had an 2000 dodge 3500 Q cab and it was a great truck. Needed a bigger back seat and an Auto (bad knee). Sold it to get my current Dmax. If my current truck was a Dually I would stay as I am. But since I'm looking to get into a different truck, I want to check out all options.
