Default 1994 blazer

Im interested in buying a 1994 blazer. It has the 6.5 turbo diesel in it. The truck has 204000 miles on it. I guess the question I have is this too many miles and how is the 6.5 as an engine? Thanks for your time and help

Ah its a diesel, as long as its been taken fairly good of, I wouldnt worry about the miles. From what I've heard, the 6.5 is pretty reliable, but I do think theyre a bit underpowered.

The Detroit 6.5 is a great motor.. for longevity. It will run forever. But they are slow, underpowered, suck diesel (depending on the app of course), and have ZERO aftermarket.

There not bad I have had a few of them and have no complaints. In a half ton blazer they will do decent on fuel. The lack of power has to be put into perspective. They are a early 90s diesel and compared to other early 90s diesels they are all slow and about the same power rating. If you are just planing on driving the truck and pulling light loads it will be fine. Just don't go into it planing to turn it up and make huge power numbers the after market is next to nothing on them and 300 hp is about all you will see,

Thanks for the help guys. 300 hp doesn't seem that bad. How much work would it take to see numbers like that? Ill be going to look at the truck next weekend. I could be buying my diesel

Its gonna take a LOT of work to get to that point, as far as *i* know.
