Default lookin for the right cummins

iv been lookin for a while now but it seems every time i find a truck im interested in it sells befor i get to look at it. im prety sure i want a 3500 for sure a 24v 5 or 6 speed but if the rite 2500 comes around id take it. i was just was wondering if there is anything i should look out for i want something i can daily drive year round and pull when fair time comes around . let me know what u guys think.
btw i like dirt digglers 3500

Lol, not too many people on here it seems. Youre looking for a 2nd gen i assume? And you're looking for a standard only, not an auto?

thanks. ya im lookin for a 98.5 to 02 id prefer a standard as iv been told the autos dont hold up well. but im not totaly against an auto just not sure what would need to be done to one to handle 550hp cause thats about the most im lookin to make.

Yeah, for that hp ur gonna need a stage 1 billet tranny. If you get a manual you're gonna need a clutch. I'd say if ur looking for 24 valves, keep an eye out for the 53 block, any evidence of a cracked timing gear case. 01 was the first year for 4 wheel disc brakes, but not all 01s have em. Why not a 3rd gen?

there is an 02 Dodge 24V with a p-pump for sale in the for sale section now. it is beautiful and would fit a lot of ppls dreams. I really want it but I doubt I can talk him down to what I could maybe afford to pay

thanks i looked at that thread but its kinda far from home. as for third gens dont like the lights
