Default 24valve Cummins

Hey I'm planning on selling my truck and buying a 24valve cummins or maybe a 12valve if I can't find a 24v. Can you dodge guys help me figure out what things I should watch out for switching to these. and Im going to have a 5grand aftermarket budget after I buy it. Hopefully can you guys also tell me what you would do with 5grand. Thanks

Lots you can do with a 24V - I assume youre looking at a second gen and not a third gen. First things first - you need a good lift pump. Pull the stock one off and throw it as far away from the truck as you can. Then you needd guages, pyor fuel pressure, boost and a tranny temp if you have an automatic.

From there the sky is the limit.

12Vs are cheaper to modify and get to 500 hp with but they take a LOT of tweaking to get them modified, and tuning to get it set just right.
