Default 6.0L Powerstroke and diesel quality in Africa

Greetings from Cape Town, South Africa.
I am planning an overland trip through N and S America and then through Africa from Cape Town to Cairo. I am considering purchasing a truck and truck camper rig in the USA for the trip. I want to go diesel and probably Ford as it appears the Ford Company has a larger footprint in the areas that I will be travelling. However my research shows that the 6.4L Powerstroke can only use ultra low sulfur diesel (<15 ppm sulfur). This grade of diesel is not available through Africa, where only South Africa has low sulfur diesel (even then only <50 ppm sulfur), and for the rest of the continent one can expect to get diesel of up to 2000 ppm sulfur!!
Therefore an option is perhaps to buy a pre-owned 2005/6 Ford F250 truck with the 6.0L Powerstroke engine.
My questions then are:
1. Will this engine be compatible with diesel with sulfur of up to 2000 ppm?
2. If not are there any modifications that can be made to permit the use of this grade of diesel?
3. I have read that the reliability of the 6.0L is not good?
4. Should I play it safe and just go for a gas engine?

I do not know the answers to ur first two questions. but as for the last two. I own a 6.0L and I like it. you have to look at somethings though. See if its stock and look at the mileage. I had the EGR system deleted on my truck and have had no problems since then. and Personally I would never buy a gas truck. Diesel all the way

If you are going somewhere that the quality of fuel is in question. You really want to have a Dodge with a 12V engine and P-7100 pump.

I think a mechanically injected diesel would be a must if the fuel quality will vary that much.
