Default CR Cummins Better Deal?..Need Advice

I am looking at buying a 04-07 5.9 QCSB 4x4 and I have found a few but unfortunately my price range is only about 18-19K.

I am not dead set on Dodge I have also considered 7.3 Fords and D-maxes but I like the simplicity of the Dodge and the reliability of the Cummins.

In essence I am looking for as much objective advice as possible, I currently have a car and do not have a dire need for a truck - more of a toy and occasional towing for family and friends.

I have found these two but I am weary of any miles over 150K

2004 - 2500

2006 - 2500 Laramie

I am new to the forum and new to Diesels, I have exp in Gas engines and I am eager to learn about no spark plugs

Please Chime in Guys!
Thanks

dont worry about the millage as long as the truck was serviced and every thing checks out the truck will last at least 350,000 probably more if you leave it stock and drive it right.

Those prices are significantly high. Look around the local dealers. They are making some pretty good deals the past year or so to move inventory. You can talk them down pretty easy if you know what to look for, front end work, small leaks anything to point out and they will cut the price just to move it off the lot.

X2^^^^^ If maintained and not abused milage shouldn't be a big issue. Definately look around at dealerships or online (diesel sites) to get a better idea on good prices and issues to avoid. I got my truck off craigslist for 18k and it ony had 84,000mi . Look around, ask questions, find the vehicle thats right for your needs. I'd suggest Chevy but that's bias. Good luck

I like you guys already(not in a broke back way though) but yes I am exploring the forums and searching their classifieds.
I really want to avoid a dealer as I never feel comfortable dealing with the whole bidding war and other games.
My other issue is that there are not that many in the Chicago area(Trucks are the Minority here) so just running to the dealer is a challenge.

Anything else I should look for let me know, I test drove a 05 with 140k but the seats felt like they were not very comfortable.

Are there any upgrades or suggestions? the 06+ seems even worse

Thanks

Yes, Thanks for doing the search.. I have actually used a site that searches craigslist in several states at once.

Just have to keep on searching
