Going to look at a 96 3500, 5speed, 4wd, club cab, no aftermarket upgrades. The guy has dropped the price to $7200. It's got 195k and he is the original owner. Things it needed that he mentioned over the phone were 6 new tires and the clear coat is gone. Current inspection threw october.
I'm pretty certain that I will buy it unless its a complete piece of junk. What are the key things I need to be looking for when i go to drive it/questions for the owner?
In other words.. the weak points in the driveline.
Primary use for me is going to be hauling a small dual axle trailor/tractor and hauling wood around.
First post to the forum so I am assuming to get plenty of flames to a newb question.
Also what kind of fuel mileage do you guys get from this stock drivetrain?
In the mean time I will start using the search button.

see if it wanders on the highway..........frontend parts will prolly be worn bad

should get 20mpg with it
