I gotta say, my ulitmate truck is a decked out GMC crew cab with a Cummins under the hood mated to the Allison trans. I test drove a dodge and liked the Cummins very much, it felt like a real work horse to me. My duramax is more like driving a small block chevy in a car. I'm still very impressed that the inline 6 puts out about the same HP & torque ratings as the v-8's from Ford & GM! There's just something about the interior of the dodge that's a tough sell for me. Maybe the laramie pkg would be enough to puch me over the edge. Time will tell as I very well could be in a new GMC by the end of next week.

I too have been a life long gm fan but fell in love with the cummins when i was wrenchin the ease of gettin around the motor and troble free and HD motor i was sold so for me when i was going to get a new one (new to me anyways) wich finally came about a month ago if it was going to be a gasser Chevy but diesel definatly Dodge. And now after owning cummins i dont think i will ever own anything different JMHO. But like some on here has said they are all about the same anymore it is just up to personal preferance and what you like best and what suits your needs for the truck good luck.

Id find a Crew Cab or Mega Cab 07 5.9 Cummins. Forget all the Polution BS on the 6.7

Give the Cummins a try, I think you'll be amazed when you put a load behind it.

Definitely give Cummins a chance, used to be a die-hard blue oval guy. But when I got my 01 CTD, I instantly fell in love with it. Just the way it drives, feels, everything about it gives you the ultimate satisfaction when you;re driving. Plus, it will and has hauled anything an everything that I throw in it or hook up to it, no problems. If you're serious about getting a new pickup though, you have to think about the long road ahead, like six to ten years ahead. For me, it's Cummins all the way, all day. My $.02
