i have 78 chevy 4x4 with a 350 and 350 turbo tranny. looking for ideas on which diesel i should install. thinking about a 6.2 gm or a 6.5 gm but not sure as to what i will need. would it be best to buy a donor truck and change out? seen on ebay 6.2 from military vehicles, any experience with them? i've had this truck for 25 years and average 10mpg on gas. so it must have a diesel. i've heard that 6.2 from late 80's is the easiest change out. are they worth it. any ideas are greatly appreciated.

 

I wouldnt waste my time with a 6.2. 6.5 turbo would be alright but wouldnt you want a fire breathing beast like a 450+ hp 12V Cummins?
