Shift Speeds
Hi all, this is my first post here, hope this is in the right spot.
First off, long time truck owner, first time diesel owner so please be patient.
I just bought a 94 F-350 7.3 Turbo Diesel to haul hay and occasionally horses and went through all the manuals but the Diesel one is missing.
My question is at what RPMs should I be shifting this thing at?
Is it different when the engine is cold or warm?
How long does one let a diesel warm up before driving it at normal temps?
Winter temps (below freezing)
Thanks in advance -
Thomas

Drive it like you stole it! No it's like any other vehicle let it warm up for a bit if it's cold outside. Like 5 minutes or so. But still take it easy when you take off. I usually shift at 1500 to1800 rpms. Kinda depends on if your in a hurry or not too. When your pulling a trailer though probably up forwards 2500 rmps. Diesels like high rmps. You don't want to dog it when your pulling a trailer anyways. Anyways that's how I do it but everyone has there opinion
