Help with choosing the right truck
I am looking to buy a truck and would like some input. I have been doing research and there is so much to look into. I am here to express my needs and wants, any feedback is much appreciated.
I am purchasing a 39 foot 5th wheel RV. Here is a link to the RV.

I will be pulling this RV about once every 2 months. I will also be using the truck as a daily driver with an hour commute each way on the highway 4 times a week. I know it may be difficult, but I am trying not to spend more than $20k on the used truck before any modifications.
I want a truck that is reliable but I also want a truck with *****. I have always had a fast car. The last car I sold was my daily driver and ran 11.4 in the 1/4. I am not expecting 11.4 but I don't want to drive something boring, I want to be able to have the thrill of the acceleration if desired.
I was thinking of a 6.4 powerstroke, egr and dpf delete with a tune.
Does this sound like a winning combo?
What would you suggest?

While I did not have a good experience with a Ford 6.4, if you get into the truck for a reasonable price you should do ok. For my money [and my budget was exactly the same as yours] I got a 05 Dodge 3500 dually crew cab 5.9 auto [rebuilt] 4x4 with 144k on it and a gooseneck plate on it. Its clean with new rubber and a V plow on it. For the same money you should be able to get a similar truck with a 6 speed and no plow. I chose over a 6.0 or 6.4 Ford or Duramax due to the following: too much bulletproofing for the Fords. Repairs are more apples to apples [injectors, head gaskets, etc] on the Duramax. I do realize there is more to it and I am a Chevy guy, but for me the deal was right financially.
