Default Buying a 2002 Excursion

Hi,

New to this forum. Hoping to touch base with a knowledgeable Excursion owner and to learn from their experience. I am thinking of buying a 2002 Excursion that has high mileage (230,000). The current owner states, "I had the oil and filter changed every 6,000-8,000 miles". At a drive through oil change place. When I asked if he had ever changed the transmission fluid and or the filter in the ten years that he has owned it, or the transfer case. He said, "No", I've never done that because I've never had a problem with it, I've never put it in four wheel drive". This owner has used this vehicle to drive back and forth work, 65 miles one-way for ten years. He claims he has never towed anything with this truck. It has been just a family/back & forth to work truckster, and that is it. My question is, what is the most likely thing to go wrong with a vehicle that has been treated in this manner? I feel the price is reasonable as long as the engine, turbo, & transmission are not ready to crap out. The pictures show a relatively clean machine. It is 100% stock, never chipped or programmed. Any and all comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Russowicz
