Default 1997 7.3 powerstroke

Hey all, just have a couple questions about a truck im looking at buying, the truck itself is a '97 f250 4x4 with the 7.3 and the standard 5 speed transmission with 191k on the clock. the truck has had an edge evo with a cs monitor on for about two months according to the current owner, they claim it got new injectors at 150k but also told me they dont have receipts or anything to prove it, it has a new clutch in it but still "grinds in third gear" i don't know if he meant up-shift, downshift or what. Is this truck worth the 7500 asking price? how difficult would the potential transmission fix be? the seller did mention he has another truck he would either throw in if i pay the asking price or he could pull the other trans and send that with me. ill be test driving the truck tomorrow, just wondering if anyone that knows ford trucks can tell me if this truck will be a bigger pain than its worth? Thank you in advance.

The transmission issues is the syncros are out in that gear. I'm not sure what it would cost to replace them

A friend of mine said the same, also said if double clutching eliminates the grinding it's safe to drive until new parts can be installed, any confirmation or rejection on that?
