Makes me wonder if that was the temp mount during fab to set height and angles and somebody forgot to fab the real mount prior to sending axel assembly out for paint/PC.
There should be an additional plate on front and rearside of the axle to support the bolt head and threaded end on both sides of the shocks eyes. Effectivly double resistance to shear.
Or it was built for all show and no go and they thought they could get away with that little jump. At least it broke in a field where they didn't hurt anyone else.

O.K. some people on this site are smart enough to reconizie the failure.
The coilover shocks should of been mounted in double shear. They were mounted in single shear. Therefore the failure. I cannot believe the same shop that builds Bigfoot would be so stupid to make this simple mistake!

 

I will admit, this is the first "Hollywood truck" I have seen in the dirt, let alone trying to get airborne, usually those guys waste 1/2 a tank to go around a dirt road or puddle

 

I guess that's why most of the monster trucks on TV clips I see show stuff breaking.
Talk about weak design in that suspension system...
