Since yer just talkin hittin some mud holes and not climbin through the mountains 200 miles from any help all you really need is the fire extinguisher and a buddy with another truck, cell phone and a tow strap. Anything past that is do-able and if you packed everything you could need your truck is gonna be to weighted down to get through any holes.

First aid kit sounds neat but what are ya really gonna have besides a few bandaids that most of us never use anyway, anything serious and your gonna call an ambulance or go down the highway to the hospital.

I'd rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it Uncle Bubba. I usually learned, there is more than one use for something, and if you can't use it, someone else can. I used cold air intake tubing that was left over from my Firebird to patch up someone tranny line that had rubbed through. Got him the whole way home without having to pay for a tow truck, or bother a buddy for his trailer.

1.) someone else with a truck!! bad things happen when ur alone
2.) First aid kit. others may say sure your not far from anything but you will be surprised what you might need!
3.) cooler with goodies
4.) RECOVERY POINTS FRONT AND REAR!! too many people never have a front hook and get stuck where they have to be pulled forward
5.) Tools! everything adjustable and the most common ones you use on the drivetrain
6.) water and a squeegie from a gas station
7.) straps/chains/rope/tackle blocks etc. as much as possible!
8.) misc fluids

You really have to plan for what you are going to do and how long you plan to do it. i'm wheeling for a few hours tonight mainly light mud and a little trails, maybe some pulls so i'm leaving the spare parts and most of my gear home, bringing some fluids, hilift, towstraps, misc tools, first aid kit is 100% always in the truck, spare clothes. If i'm out for the day or longer I bring the above list and then some.. if i'm playin for a few hrs just some drinks and recovery gear

If your just goin out to play for a while not to far from home, I would just bring some recovery gear, beer, and first aid

btw, waukeshaw is a neat area, been there a few times

Here is a good article I wrote a few years back. We ran deep and regularly into Baja with piece of mind.
