Good to see you home Devil Dog. I don't know if he is on this forum but there is a guy on Cummins Forum that races Baja and other races with a Ranger not diesel. He might be able to help you out some also.

Ken and his wife came up to visit a few weeks ago so we could plan out the first stage of this build. This is going to be alot of fun for everyone involved. Queeg was able to free himself of his busy schedule to make it up here to meet with us as well, so it was a very successful initial race meeting. Ran some numbers, now we are in the planning stages. Most people have no idea just how much goes into one of these trucks. Its the first one we have built, but Sage Carli has been a WEALTH of knowledge. We will be working very closely with Carli as this project unfolds.

Hopefully, the project truck should arrive at the shop sometime in Oct/Nov. Then, we have the winter to build it. Fishmouth Fab Works is hooking us up HUGE with a cage job, nearly half of what we had expected. Top notch fabricater too, it will be very cool to see what he bends up for this bad boy.

Biggest issue right now is going to be tires. They are expensive and we need lots of them. I am figuring we need probably 14 tires. Also, stock 3rd gen wheels. Anyone got a set in the barn? We have a little tighter budget than we had planned on, and we are trying to find ways to stretch it out as far as possible. With careful driving we can get by on stock wheels. I have an extra set, but we need more than that. If you have a set of wheels you aren't totally attached to give me a call with a price and we'll see how it fits in the budget.

So far the chase truck will be my 2006, crewed by myself, Queeg, and 2 others to be decided. Ken has some time still to name his co driver/navigator, then they have some training to do!

All in all, this is going to be one kick ars project, and it will be an incredible feeling to see it all the way to race day, even more so if we finish!! Going to start with shorter races and work up from there. We'll keep you updated as this proceeds.

Ken - call me on my cell if you read this today. If not, I'm in the shop all week

Hey man, I am heading to Iraq next week. (SOAB!) Then I am getting out when I get back, and moving back home to Arizona. If you are not finished for this fall's 1000, I will be more than willing to help you out. There is plenty of open desert where I live. If you need a Co driver, I am willing to squeeze that into my schedule. I have alot of Desert off road driving experience.
