Default vortrac tires (swamppers)

anyone have some input on the interco vortrac all terrains? Im thinking those or the pro comp extremes? all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. also, why do the vortracs have only two plys, whereas other all terrains have three?? the vortracs have an E rating too...Can anyone explain the difference? dan

That's for the sidewalls. Do you or are you going to be offroad a lot where you are prone to puncturing the sidewall?

periodically yes.....Most of the time no. these tires are all very expensive and if Im going to spend 1200 bucks then why not spend 14 or 15 hundred? Just like to buy the best ya know. Dont need mud tires but certainly want somthing for everything....especially rain and snow....want to know if the only 2 ply is thicker or somthin compared to the 3 ply on the pro comps? dan

3 ply is stronger IE thicker think of 2ply and 3 ply toilet paper as a comparison But I have extreme A/Ts and love them and work great in the wet and snow... Mud tires not so much! Had good year MTR's on my old truck and I could lock up the tires in the rain at will

If you are looking for tires 37" and under check out www.treadwright.com GREAT prices and the tires work well. I've run 7 sets of them. The load rating is the weight rating, ply rating is the toughness rating for punctures. Always match the load to the truck GVWR.
