Default What diesel tools does a diesel mechanic need to buy?

I am trying to help a friend start their diesel mech career, but I don't know what tools he needs to start with. I would go into a store and ask but I am afraid they will take advantage in my lack of knowledge.

A good set of wrenches from 1/4 to 1 1/2 then metric wrenches from 6 to 25 maybe a couple a little bigger, hammers, set of pliers with vice grips 3/8 drive metric and standard sockets with ratchets and extensions, 1/2 in drive set of sockets with extensions and ratchets, screw drivers and pry bars, impacts, and gasket grinders. This is just a small list of some of the things I have in my box. No matter how many tools you buy you will always find something else you need buying a decent sized box is a good idea because you will always have room to grow. I'm sure i have forgot some things
