If you want to burn rubber the FIRST thing you need to do is start the car in 1st gear!!
You'll need to get a "fgs" first gear start module. If you can believe it, these cars all start in 2nd gear! It was an emissions tactic to get rid of that puff of smoke when the car starts rolling. Look it up on google. The european cars use module 0025454132 which can be easily wired into the american cars.
Fortunately I have an 84 engine w/o all the extra CA smog rubbish. If I block the EGR as suggested on the intake side, is there really a need to block of the vacuum lines?

Cheers,
James

You only need to plug disconnected vacuum lines to ensure there are no vacuum leaks.

If you're going to delete the EGR, you might as well go ahead and pull the intake manifold. I couldn't believe how much goop was in there. I was amazed that the engine even ran! It's a messy job, but after the delete, you should never have to do it again.
