stack with a 7 stage edge
i have a 7 stage racing edge with attitude i was wondering what i can stack that with on my 08 LMM. it has a dpf delete, strait pipe from turbo back already on it. the EGR block plate on the way a banks intercooler in the mail gona upgrade intake when the funds allow it. just wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge about what i can stack with the 7 stage, thanks for any and all information.

I personally wouldn't stack anything with it, the Edge runs injection timing as well as increased rail pressure, anything you "stack" on it will only compound that, and your gonna end up with melted pistons or cracked injectors, just not worth the risk unless you want to be rebuilding your LMM

efi is hands down the best custom tuning option, however its not for everyone, some people just want a canned tuner. As far as twins a stock lmm engine is only safe to around 650rwhp give or take, and twins are the safer way of makin power, and are alot more drivable on the street. One big turbo takes longer to light so if your racin on the street it will lag alot more

your probably right, and it will more than likely be your Tranny
the stock LMM turbo is actually relatively small compared to some of the aftermarket offerings, and it is a Variable Nozzle Turbocharger or Variable Geometry Turbocharger, and it can open and close a set of vanes inside the drive side of the turbo to allow for quicker spool up, and more flow at WOT
a Big Single straight vane turbo will take forever to spool, and it wont be very streetable
a set of compounds uses a smaller charger like your stock VGT and another turbo that is much larger so still have the benefits of the stock turbos quick spool, and the big turbos large amount of boost... In essence the small turbo gets things moving and the large turbo keeps them moving, a set of compounds will out do a big single for almost any application except for say certain classes in sled pulling where they are only allowed single turbos of a specific inducer size
Another option may be using the stock turbo as well as a Centrifugal Supercharger, i know that one company is offering a kit for the LMM, and it is very streetable/workable

that sounds like something to definitly keep in mind for my lmm. i did some looking at twins and just wasnt sure i wanted to tackle something like that for it ive always heard they work hard an boost alot real fast but it seems like when you boost up hard an fast you lose some grunt puts too much power out to fast i guess is what im saying. i would like to stay with a nice single and just slowly get my truck to were i want it power wise but i may be done with it once i get efi live, atleast for a wile my truck performs great now cant wait to see the efi live in action now that i have done some talking to people that know about it, i was completly ignorant of it until a few days ago as far what it does and what its capable of
