I saw a cool video on Youtube where a guy had a high idle switch using the cruise control.
Has anyone seen or done this? If so, can you share how to hook it up? This would be useful for me on cold days

 

I know the Dodges have it, as long as it is enabled. I think it is a simple as pushing and holding cruise, then accel or decel for RPM.

 

ppe sells a kit to do it. just taps into the ecm on the pto wire.

i have the directions still from ppe. i can tell u exactaly which port on the ecm to send switched power to for the pto. would just have to go to gm and get one of the special wire ends for the ecm.

It depends what year model you have. You can't do it on some stock trucks such as my 2001, but my dad's company has nothing but duramax's for hauling thier equipment around and some of their newer model trucks have an idle switch on it.
