According to factory specs, you stock lb7 has about 300 ponies.

For the millionth time, your stock transmission is only good for about 90 extra horse. so call it 390 horsepower and you will start finding tranny problems. might as well go ahead and get some upgrades for your tranny when you start adding power.

a buddy of mine from work just purchased an 05 d-max. the truck had a banks 6gun and some aftermarket intake on er' when he bought it. now, idk where your from partner but my buddy knows a guy up/down here that took his truck into his shop an for 450 bucks gave him a 5 position switch and 5 tunes to go on it. not sure which tunes he put on there but his truck now runs a hellova lot better than with the 6gun. however he was also told if he really got into it not to take it out of 3rd gear or he'd fry his tranny...personnally i dont run-round in a d-max im floppin about in a cummins which i love. however this is what i know so i hope it helps partner.

cheetah turbos are expensive like 3200-4200 depending on what you want to do.

transmission will run you about 35-3800 with build and parts
