Almost immediately, I only used it long enough to get the AFE in after the ordering process...
The K&N went to a guy in Canada for a pre filter on a home project ride...A jeep of some kind I think...

I have a friend who is a full time mech, and owns a shop, he showed be the turbine out of a turbo that was only run with a K&N filter, it was chewed all to H***...
There is NO WAY I will run a K&N!!!
Not after seeing that!!!

Clarify the K&N if you would. With the drop in replacement filter, I would agree. Complete crap that should be outlawed. The replacement cone filter, I have personally never seen any problems with them unless they were self inflicted. I think K&N gets a bad rap as a whole because of the drop in, nobody says one or the other they just refer to the K&N as a whole.

The K&N uses a lower viscosity oil for the media and a lower quality media.
I can put a brand new one on my truck, run 10 miles and have grit on the inside of my pipes. Secondly, The Media WILL pull apart out of the wire mesh.

I've got a long write up on it, I'll see if I can find it some where. It's been tested......
Just dont get me started on amsoil and we'll be fine !

Here again though are we talking the drop in or the replacement filter. I've got almost 200,000 on my replacement without a single problem, no internal dust or oil and the few oil analysis I have had done have come back clean.

I'm talking drop in AND cone type.
I've seen probably 10 turbo's destroyed by a K&N from disintegration, I've seen heads and turbo's look sand blasted. I'll try to find the scientific study on it. I'm glad you like there filter, but they were never designed as a Filter for a forced induction engine. I sell plenty for gas engines...just not forced induction!
