Anybody out there renting or loaning out their front and rear main seal install tools for a Lb7? I don't wan't to buy them if I don't have to.

 

In some cases when ther both leaking like that ... We ... in the heavy diesel industry tend to start looking at the lower end and inspect the bearings to ensure that the crank isnt sagging due to bearing wear or failure begingin .....just food for thought .... might wanna check that out.

also turbo seals blowing boost into crank case through the oil return line(s) ...

 

I had the motor out for a rebuild.

 

ahh ... how didi you pull and install them before ?

 

The motor had 300,000 on it so the seals were original. It was a complete tear down so I just knocked them out when the front and rear covers were off.

 

The crummy part is ur gonna have to pull trans. ... Again ...

the front I would just pull cover and redo ... Save some hassel there ... The rear ... Is it a bolt in one piece ??
