Daniel and I went and picked up muddy today and went to town. We stoped at cabelas and boy was that a mistake. First of all you have to check your gun at the door if it has to come out for any reason. Well in this case we were looking for new grips for lees charter arms 38 so i had to check it. After you check a gun you cant touch it in the store. They call a guy up to get the gun and escort you and the gun to the gun counter. We get to the gun counter and i tell the guy i need to get a new set of grips that are better for a women shoter. the guy told me that they dont sell grips. Ha! We walked by a rack full of grips on the way to the gun counter i said. Then muddy said and the grips need to work with a speed loader. The guy at the gun counter said you wont find a speed loader for this gun. I said what? The guy said they dont make a speed loader for a 5 shot. As you no it went to HELL from there. I for 1 will not go back to cabelas.
On a good note we went to sportsman wherehouse and got what we needed with no prob

That sucks. I've been to Boise once and didn't even get a chance to go in there and look around. I go to the Sportsmans in Idaho Falls quite a bit though. I haven't had any bad luck with them yet but I also haven't bought a gun from them yet either. Mostly because I'm not old enough to buy a pistol yet.

Buying a gun is not hard if you are of age and have a good back record.

yes, these were idiots. the over cautious part i can see. even sprtsmnwhrhse they wnt u to check in the weappon you are bringing in unholstered for fitting purposes. check in. confirm empty. a red strap on it, note in the book for a cya. tehn let ya go back to the firearm section to try out grips, holsters, etc etc.
worked ok at sprt wh.
cabelas ya check in and they take the weapon confirming it is empty. their policy is to call someone to escort ya and they pack your weapon WITH a big bulky trigger lock on. with this on how can ya try on grips or their use of a speeloader with these grips. how can ya even think of trying a custon fit retention holster????? how can you even check it for your satisfaction with someone else slipping it into and out of a holster to confirm the you, the user will be able to insert and remove easily enough or that it has proper retention. well if they wouldnt remove the trig lock the fit check aint happening anyway and if they did remove it and i cant check the way it feels, myself, i aint buying the holster.
to say they dont sell grips there, what in idiot. and the speedloader comment. crazy. i told him he is ignant as i have 5 5 shot speed loaders on me. hks model 36. went right over his dense head. a mininum wage worker who just wants to get you out of his hair. im sure there are enuff unemployed gun nuts who would work there and enjoy it so they wouldnt need to hire a dummy like that.
when curtis said just find someone to escort him out the guy wasted no time. he knew we were all pissed. and i was a bit vocal with him and at the from entry desk where the young man and a lady were apolagetic and stating what curtis posted above about their gun counter help are not gun experts, just salesmen.
i was vocal with those 2 also. and i have the #s of coporate office in sydney neb and the # for boise. do ya think i will not voice my opinion of this idiot and our expierience at cabelas.
and fact is that in addition to not selling grips. not selling a bunch of speedloaders. and missing out on a selling 3 good holsters, they missed out on a high dollar item sale now and in the future, all that they lost to their competition at sportsmans's wharhse. i had planned on returning to get a nessesity at a near date, but not now. 3 customers now gone for good. and vocal customers too.
i will enjoy my phone conversations today with people in charge of this monkey at that zoo.

They're not even going to find a speeding ticket on my record so I'm good there. I just need to be 21. Between Sportsmans and CAL Ranch I've got pretty much everything gun related covered anyway.
