thanks to earl for his part in trying to remedy this fiasco that was caused by ignorance on the part of his staff.
in my speaking with earl yesterday i had a good feeling that earl would take some action and get to the bottom of this and make some changes. you cant keep a successful business if you have employees who run off your customers due to ignorance and putting forth a lack of effort.
knowing earl would be on this and educate staff in sales relationships i figured i would give cabelas another try, due to the fine treatment earl had exibited on the phone yesterday.
fast fwd to today at noon hour.[12.38]
i had purchased an uncle mikes kydex rh model 36 retention holster, paddle adaptable to belt holster the other day at sportsmans due to the fiasco at cabelas when we were unable to deal with that individual. this holster is just the ticket for what is needed and so i decided that i am going to get one just like it only LH.
i spoke with one of the gun counter people and tel him what i need. i tell him i need the kydex uncle mikes size 36 LH paddle adaptable to belt. this is adjustable retention. this 'individual' tells me no, you need an uncle mikes nylon. i say absolutly not. i dont want the flimsy nylon, i want the kydex. we argue back and forth and he says ok,,,, you want plastic. i say 'darn right'.
he then looks and says, yep, reight here is what ya need. i then repeat 'good. a LH correct?' he says no. they dont make these in a left hand. you need an uncle mikes nylon. these are the only left hand or ambidextrous holster available. cant get LH in a kydex.
BULL!!!!
i speak with curtis about this and he looks it up on the internet. BUD's has these available in a LH just like i want. kydex law enforcement uncle mikes. the twin to what i already have except for LH vs my RH.
i realize earl has his work cut out for him and it is not his fault that some unintellegent employees slip thru. but cabelas needs some house cleaning, training or something.
tell the staff that when an item is out of stock but available thru order that you will order it for them. dont tell them it is NOT available and try to sell them some pos item the customer does NOT want, just to make a sale and get them out of the store in a hurry. i still have not made my [censored] purchase and i will be particular who i deal with in getting that. if i dealt with the jokers i did today and saturday im sure he wouldve tried to sell my a hi-point
you have your work cut out for ya earl. i appreciate you dong what you do to make your shop run the way it should.

your comments give me faith that that section of cabelas WILL change for the better.
on another note, welcome to IDAHO TURBO DIESELS. we look fwd to visiting with you at upcoming events and congrads on your decision to go straight...... straight six that is
you'll love that CUMMINS.
