Know how ya feel. Sounds like someone threw a bolt down the intake. Damn low compression!

I should have the factory pistons/rods out of the stock motor this morning. I can see where the valves were just making contact with the carbon build-up on the piston tops (I guess the stock valve springs didn't much like 4400rpm upshifts). The pistons are fine, the pan was clean as new, and I am hoping the rods are still straight.

Oh hellz yea.. John.. I know where there is an 85 short wide chevy with solid axles already under it for $300 and its got the 350 in it.. runs.. but no trans.. want the info ?

Hey KC. You guys survive the storms ok? Some nasty stuff that went through on Thursday evening. I still have an 83 Silverado SWB taking up all the room left in my 2-car garage that needs to have something done with it. It heckles me everytime I walk through there. It has seen a 572 w/Weiand street blower & dual Barry Grant carbs and a single carbed 383 stroker small block. Now it is only a barren shell of what it once was...it gave up its life so that the D-Max could live on!

Tear down is done and I just posted up a couple of pics of the factory rods/pistons (still good as new)!!
