Ed - I have a spare reluctor wheel you can use free of charge! Hope yours turns out okay but use it as an excuse to build it better, stronger, faster.
We may be able to be replace the oil pump gear & reluctor wheel without dropping the pan or pulling the motor.
I had a lengthy talk with the machine shop owner this morning. He said he would gladly fix/replace the incorrect part free of charge (duh - what a guy) but did a whole lot of dancing around about offering up anything to offset the added labor costs. Not sure how I am going to handle that end of this mess. Lawyers cost money too. Plus it sucks to loose more time with this setback.
Jason @ DIS has been had to help correct other shop's mistakes on my truck before. He has done a good job with this swap (it still looks factory under the hood) and with his help I should be back on track soon.

I used Performance Machine in Manhattan, KS. The owner has been machining/building high performance engines since he quit racing Top Fuel back in the late 70s. They do great machine work and their assembly looked to me to be top notch. Brian at BTS was familiar with their work as he is from that area. With all of that said, I had no hesitation having them build my motor as they have done several D-Max builds. This was a shock to me that it happened.
I would not have trusted any local machine shop with my build so I'm not sure what the better alternative is/would have been.
On the bright side - TS is not far off and I have yet to make a pass with the new motor or find a tune it likes. With my current turbo, I think it will make close to 850hp once it's dialed in. It will need more air & boost to go much further. To be honest I may not want to go any further. I don't want to end up with a drag race only truck. That is why I have sold off all of my gas toys to begin with! I guess I'll never learn.

So John your not going to have to yank the motor? Man that would be great. You know it's hard to find anyone around here that has performance background, so you have to look out of town and you don't expect things to go wrong. But it sucks when they do cause of being out of town.
Sure slows things down!!!
Stupid reluctors & computers.
