Well im new to diesel and suprised!
Bought a 241K 1996 F350 with the 7.3L. Its a duelly and crew cab. When i got it (my first truck i have ever owned in my 43 years) i was pretty happy. Up until i took a drive in my neighbors Dodge that has exhaust and a chip. At that point my truck was slow as far as i was concerned - but i do a lot of towing in my company and the 7.3L has a good rep. I bought the truck from a family member for 2500.00. It has 241K a rebuilt tranny that has the shift kit and new converter, it shifts hard and tight. Other then that - bone stock. It revs at 2500 at 75mph, gets 15mph at 62mph.. sucks diesel in town - fun truck... big truck... Well today i installed the Edge CS into it.... The truck litterally feels like a race car in Race mode - i never did get to extreme and wont as in race mode the truck is way faster then a large truck should be. I did try 0-60 and 1/4 times to see what it would do in race mode. 16.4 in the 1/4 and 8.1 in the 0-60. I set it back to tow mode when i got back to the house. I have a stock exhaust under it and will be running a 4" exhaust next week. I have to say - i am VERY VERY impressed with diesel power. I am AMAZED on how cruising at 55 and i pucnc it - 70mph is in no time at all... Actually it feels a lot like a muscle car. The down side is now it is REAL hard to stay out of the throttle. Amazing....
One other thing i did was tried it at a road where i had punched it and when i passed the 60mph sign i was doing 57mph.... in tow mode today i was doing 74mph.... when this thing pulls hard above 1900 rpm - i am assuming off the line that is called turbo spool as for the first 10 to 15mph is is pretty slow, but when it hits 1900 rpm is runs like a scalded cat....

Also, a 6.0 tranny cooler and a punisher valve body will make it last a lot longer. Might want to try a ts 6 position chip with beans tunes. Decel tune(flips closed the ebpv for exxhaust braking) and drivethrough tunes rock for a psd. Might wanna throw a purple cps in, new spring in the fpr, and check your exhaust back pressure sensor and tube for soot buildup. A new big spring coolant cap is helpful too to make sure you dont boil your coolant while towing. Every single stock Little spring cap ive seen has been junk.

Oh help forgot to mention regulated return is an awesome upgrade. Aswell. Even on a stock truck. IT lets the fuel system purge and keeps the fuel cooler. Also, turn the doghouse around on the valve cover and run a hose down with a 45* cut on it. No more oil through your turbo. Superduty intakes open it up a good bit also.

Yep, and just think... your 16 year old truck with a chip is still less powerful than the newest offerings from the big three
Awesome to hear your enjoying your new truck and your new found diesel addiction
