Diesel, the new rice...
#11
Anyways back to the topic of the thread...
I agree that diesels have become the sportscars of our generations... why spend all the money and work to try and get 300hp out of a civic when for the same amount of cash you make 800 with a diesel... and its much more practical...
Iv also noticed that i get a lot more respect from ricer turds on the road than befor... they dont pull up next to me reving there fart cannon anymore... now they know there going to get smoked...

There's a bunch of people, mostly younger people, who will buy (or their parents will buy for them) a diesel just for show. They roll with all their windows down and all that because they think they are so cool. I HATE THAT! Especially, the people who put 8" and up exhaust tips and smoke switches.
Yes, I'm 19 and yeah, I have a Cummins, BUT YES, we DO TOW/HAUL around here.

im the same way with mine i have used it to haul cars, countless loads of wood, pull trailers for friends, haul scrap.. i have made alot of money with it hauling scrap.. and it does get annoying sometimes seeing the kids who just look at you and say make it smoke and when you dont they think your truck is a p.o.s.

Diesel, the new rice...
I agree. Being able to hit the dyno and throw down 500hp and run a 4.5 sec 0-60 one day, and then throw a 14k lb trailer on the next day and reliably tow it through the mountains is second to none. There is really nothing else you can do this with. The trucks are amazing when they are built correctly. I just hate seeing the name of the hobby being hurt by immature brats...

I hate how diesels are becoming the next ricers. It seems like every new guy, and even some who have been in the hobby before want "lope tunes", "smoke tunes", and smoke switches. All show and no go. If you have a puller or racer that lopes and smokes, awesome! But not when your truck is bone stock

Next Rice>>>
Agreed,
Im only 24, but unlike most of the other young bombers out therE, I love both my Cummins And my Fummins because they Get awesome mileage, Tow great, and Sure its cool to here a good sounding exhaust, But stacks and smoke dont ake it pull any more weight or really much faster at all.
But hey, ive got stacks on the Fummins, just cause Im a Redneck

The more of them that buy Diesel trucks means more attention from the aftermarket.
A guy recently posted on DBM a huge history of programming and racing, didn't see much in it about diesel (been awhile since i read it could be mistaken), but we gained from his background for programming, and are better for it.
These ricer guys have been finding ways to shove ten pounds of crap in a five pound sack for years. Ever look under the hood of one of those things. Lots of inovation and fab technology in there.
Point is they are crossing over and the only thing you can really do is try to benefit from what they bring to the table. No community worth being in stays exclusive forever.
Bad side is used trucks are going to get rare and junked trucks with good parts are going to get expensive. If they are just out rolling coal to make smoke we are worse off(more bad attention), but when the cool kids are doing cool looking things, all the other kids want to play to.
What is really scary to me is the way irresponsible ones drive those cars. They are going from 3000lbs or less to nearly 8000lbs. Some of them will probably never have been behind the wheel of a pick-up and have the money to go straight to 700 hundred plus hp.

In my neck of the woods there are only two other guys besides me that know how to handle a modded truck responsibly. We all use our trucks to make money and save the smoke and the speed for the track. The others well... One guy turned his up alot to "roll coal" and didnt have gauges or anything.Long story short he burned it up pulling a trailer, imagine that. A bunch of the high school and college guys like to smoke people out and try to see what they can hit with there tow mirrors. I could go on and on but you probably get the point of how dumb some of the people are over here(no offense to the smart people) .
