Yah, I'm still scrape'n the crud off the bottom...a lot of it...I did however drop my mirror brackets off at the powder coaters and ordered a 8000# Warren winch, so excited about the winch should be here in a couple of weeks...and also waiting on my boss who I got the truck from to get the lost tittle done...can't blame him though cuz he is a very busy man, but I am sure I'll have it in the next couple of weeks...got everything working good except for the wiper switch which is hard to operate, so I might have to rewire a universal switch in its place.

Will be back later with some pics of the new mirrors towards the end of next week.

Cool looking project you have going there. Just a helpful hint on the degreasing. Break through the outer crust, then dilute some Dawn dishwashing soap with just enough water to get it to go through a pump sprayer. Spray it on and let it soak.. It may take a few applications, but it's a lot cheaper than commercial degreasers and every bit as effective.
Keep us posted on your progress.

You put a 16' flatbed on it you'll have to stamp Not for Hire on the doors! Good luck with your project.

That's actually a good statement...I have seen that even on horse trailers, 5th wheel trailers and on all my bosses equipment...so what is it on their for?...just because it says not for hire doesn't mean people are not going to not use their equipment to make money, right?

My new mirrors are finally done...I have to say they look great, the drivers side was a real pain to install cuz the mirror mounts weren't removable and I had to stretch the bar a bit to get it in...I now have a spot mirror on both doors for the blind spots...I will post later on the new mirror pictures...today I will be removing some tires that are on a mixer truck and using those for my new steer tires...it does seem to be dragging out a bit but I can only do what I can as money is available to spend...I'm sure you all know how that is...will be back soon with some more pictures...and I am almost done cleaning up the under carriage

this seems to be a very interesting thread so far. I can't wait to see the end result

Farm Diesel, That is a 3208. they are pretty gutless but there might be hope for it. i know they used that same motor for a little while. We have a truck a little newer that has a 460 and we know a guy who has one with the 3208. from what I have heard our 460 dominates the 3208.

looks like a good project

We used to hook a full sized grain trailer on that single axle... Of course we would only pull a half load with it
