Default Diesel Exhaust Fluids (DEF)

Diesel Exhaust Fluids (DEF)

DEF Facts DEF is a urea-based chemical reactant designed specifically for use in SCR systems to reduce NOx emissions.
DEF consumption is expected to be approximately 2% of the diesel fuel consumed, dependent on application and vehicle operation.
DEF use is directly related to fuel consumption. For every 50 gallons of diesel fuel burned, you will use approximately 1 gallon of DEF.
DEF from Cummins Northwest is availble in intermediate bulk containers, including plastic and disposable totes, and plastic drums
DEF from Cummins Northwest is availble for bulk delivery direct from the blending facility (1,000 gallons +, call for pricing)

Diesel Exhaust Fluids (DEF) from Fleetguard Cummins Northwest now has available Diesel Exhaust Fluids to meet your operational needs in DEF containers from 1 gallon jugs, 2 1/2 gallon jugs, 5 gallon jugs, 55 gallon drums, 275 or 330 gallon totes or IBC's (Internal Bulk Containers). We also have available bulk deliveries up to 5000 gallons

DEF Bulk Deliveries Cummins Northwest can arrange for the delivery of bulk orders to your facilities. For quotes on DEF bulk deliveries, specify customer drop points, zip code of each location, tank size ( gallon capacity), type of tank ( stainless, polyethylene or polypropylene type) and gallon usage needs. DEF Storage DEF producers indicate that DEF containers should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated areas out of direct sunlight. Storage temperatures need to be stored at 86 degrees F or below and above 12 degrees F to prevent freezing should have a shelf life of at least 12 months and could last up to as much as 24 months. Higher temperatures have little to no effect on normal shelf life and frozen DEF can be thawed and used without any recourse. In cold regions, it is recommended to keep DEF totes or IBC's in a weather housed storage unit with heating capabilities.
Caution should be used to keep all DEF containers closed or sealed when in storage and in use. It is not recommend that containers remain open after the initial opening and expose the DEF fluid to the environment primarily due to contaminants that can enter the containers as well as evaporation of the deionized water from the container. It's very important the container mix maintain the high purity urea of 32.5% per ISO 22241.
Cummins Northwest offers closed systems to our customers when purchasing drums, totes or IBC DEF products. This prevents the DEF liquid from being exposed to an open environment.
