Question for manufacturers and retailers.

If your willin to drop this kinda money you just talk to the company and they will build their parts to your specs.
If your runnin rockwells you may by some stretch stay street legal, unlikely but maybe but it won't be useful for anything. They are the monster truck axles or for fanatical off roaders.
It sucks but the facts of life are that we can't have everything. You can't build a monster truck that tow's and works for daily drivin, not with any margin of safety anyway. That's why all of us don't have these trucks. This sites full a guy's with this money invested in their trucks but invested in parts to make them usable as well as toys. Once you lift a truck like that, your done, a toy is all it's good for after that. This is also why the used market on lift kits sucks for sellers. The taller the lift the less it's worth used.

The problem is finding a company though bubba, from my limited knowledge it's all SAS stuff no one likes the chevy IFS which I want swapped so why not make my truck bulletproof with Rockwells on 40's or make a super single conversion which is an option much like the posted pick above.

YouTube - Monster Dually Burn Out
that's a video of a ford that is street legal and a dually! 2 problems its a ford and secondly I hate the big rig look, id rather run Super Swamps for the woods. hope that gives an indication of where I am heading with my inspiration...

If this truck is runnin license plates it's only because he hasn't been on the road much since he built it. Aside from any other issues he may have the bumpers are to high off the ground to be legal in any state I know of.

you bring it out to california and just feed me money for parts and i will build what ever you want thats about the best i can say with out knowing all the parts you really want for it as for, tire size, rim size and style, suspension types (leafs/coils/coil overs/etc), Axles, yada yada yada. as for being that large and still being useful for hauling or working I personally wouldn't see it being very useful or comfortable to drive.

See that's the beauty of the Kelderman kit I think, from what I know legally the bumper only has to be a certain height at a certain time so it can be lowered on command. Legally a cop can stop you, lower it and presto you've avoided charges.

Go visit you local Secretary of State's office or State Police Headqarters and ask them about your local laws. They're gonna pull out books full of legal restrictions in regards to modifying a vehicle.

Yeah but as a lawyer I'm sure I can find a loop hole or two, in the end Bubba I think I may consider getting a company to build it when the time comes I think that's a smart idea although between me, the plethora of engineering buddies I have and the 2 diesel mechanics who are also good friends and considering ive saved ones rear end a few times I think I may look at that option as well. This being said I think that based on the reliability of the Rockwell axles and their 2.5 TC I will be running this setup. You only live once right now to find an off road company...
BTW thanks for all your info Bubba it's much appreciated.

A heads up for a company to look into for a solid axle swap onto the chevy trucks is ORU. they deal a lot with them. Also I believe Sky Manufacturing makes some stuff for a solid axle conversion. The offroad industry has been pretty hot on the solid axle conversions for some years now you can get or piece together just about anything you could need.
