Do you really go for the look of an air filter?
My personal opinion ( I do write that with a reason) is to stay with the stock filter. All fancy filter medias do not filter as well as the original.
Have you ever heard of a semi using a K&N?

They can only filter what the engine demands. We all try to squeeze the very best out of every filter- so if you change in time you won't need a performance thing. Unless you go for the look and not for engine saftey.
Don't get fooled by those new Eco and green things- a filter has only one task: to filter air, not green or eco or whatever.

But this is just my personal opinion.

We do have them in Europe too, and they are heavyly advertised. To expensive, just another brand on the K&N wave...

One thing i like about my "K&N style (AFE) is that even when it gets reallllly dirty it never looses airflow like the stock paper kind. And airflow is the key to power and economy. K&N has been around forever in the motorcycle/ATV market and i use them. The only place i ride is in the dust/dirt and have never had a problem. I do however clean mine only 2 times a year and do it right, but it is soooo easy to do. With the filter skin, sheesh the filter is hardly dirty. my $.02.
