Why are manual tranny trucks hp lower?

Less drivetrain power loss with a standard than an auto. That makes up a little to even the numbers to the ground out. But I agree on the clutch cost issue and the warranty issue too. I guess I got a bum driveshaft then too cause my 07 chewed through a u-joint at about 60k and my good friend with the same truck had the same issues. Hmmmmm guess we got lemons.

The drivetrain on the 03 and up is exactly what guys are using on sled pullers so drivetrain isnt the issue. They have larger stronger drive shafts, ujoints, transfer case, rearend. The only downside is the transmisson has a aluminum case and under extreme stress will crack.
