Default $500 diesel?

I just got $500 for Christmas and decided to get another truck for mainly off road use. I was just wondering what diesel truck I could get for about $500. I realize that it's going to be something older like a 6.9 Ford or a 6.2 Chevy. I want something that I can beat on and play around with. I can probably get an army truck from govliqudation.com, but I don't want to go through that kind of tape. Do you guys think I should look around for one of these or save up some more coin for something better. Thanks.

Maybe I'll get a gas truck for now and later on do a diesel swap. What do you guys think a good price for an old diesel would be?

Today, I actually found a diesel for $600. It's a '95 3/4 ton Silverado 4x4 but has injector problem. I don't know how bad or if that's even the problem. The transmission, running gear, and body is good on the truck. I might get it for the Chevy/Cummins conversion but I don't know yet.

I'm seeing some 6.2 Chevy 3/4 ton Blazers from Government Surplus Auctions at Government Liquidation

Here's one of the blazers
