I'm glad you spoke up, dieseldude03.

Someone has said Unions have outlasted their need, or words to that effect.

I'd like to counter that as long as there is corporate greed, or even just the desire of a company to get the cheapest labor possible, whether thru lack of pay, or benefits, Collective Bargaining will have a place.

The balance point will have to be neither side taking undue advantage of the other. It kind of comes back to the "Fair day's pay, for a Fair day's work" thing I mentioned earlier.

I live in a "Right to work" state. Is it any wonder our wages are lower here? Some would argue the cost of living is also lower here, but to that I'd say I was paying $5.00 a gallon for diesel fuel, just like everyone else in the country a little while ago... Just an example I wanted to throw out there.

Chrysler to file for bankruptcy - Yahoo! Canada News

Well, it happened.

Don't kill the messenger guys, I'm sorry to hear it too.
I wonder how far behind GM is in all this.

Yup, chapter 11... They will still be here though, they aren't gone. GM might be next doing the same thing.

Yeah, the day I can't buy another diesel truck or see a new Vette or Viper is when I'll shed tears. As long as they still make trucks I'll be happy.
